August 3rd 2008: Kopete 0.50.80 released with KDE 4.1.0

Kopete 0.50.80 has been released alongside KDE 4.1.0. New and noteworthy are the addition of a Status Manager and an OTR plugin. Get New Stuff is back for chat theme styles and emoticons, which make full use of the new global KDE Emoticon system. AIM/ICQ protocol support has been improved as well as many other parts of Kopete. Last not least lots of bugs have been identified and fixed, including those of two recent Bug Triage Marathons.

You can obtain Kopete 0.50.80 in the kdenetwork packages provided by your distribution. The KDE 4.1.0 info page lists further options.

July 10th 2008: One Bug Triage Marathon done, another one coming soon

The first Bugsquad for Kopete on Sunday 6th July was a big success. Starting sometime on Saturday and going on the whole Sunday and even quite some more time, a lot of helpers ensured to bring the number of open bugs for Kopete well below the mark of 500, marking it clearly green in the weekly statistics. A big thank you to all bug triagers out there! In case you missed the first Bugsquad, note down the soon to come second Bug Triage Marathon: On Sunday 20th July any remaining bugs shall be hunted. See you in #kde-bugs!

July 3rd 2008: Two Kopete Bug Triage Marathons coming soon

On Sunday 6th July, the Bugsquad will be holding a Kopete bug triage day. The aim: to dramatically reduce the number of Kopete bug reports from the current level of approximately 530. As usual, this bug day will be coordinated in the channel #kde-bugs on irc.freenode.net. There will also be a followup bug day two weeks later, on Sunday 20th July, to triage any remaining bugs. January 11th 2008: Kopete 0.50.0 released with KDE 4.0.0

KDE 4.0.0 includes Kopete 0.50.0. This version adds AIM and ICQ filetransfer support, adds support for multiple independent "Identities" for one user, and fixes many bugs. This is the first in the KDE 4 series of releases, so many improvements will be seen as new opportunities are explored. The Cryptography plugin is not part of this release.

January 23rd 2007: Kopete 0.12.4 released with KDE 3.5.6

KDE 3.5.6 includes Kopete 0.12.4. This version increases webcam performance under MSN, and includes a number of minor bug fixes.

August 11th 2006: Kopete 0.12.2 released

Kopete 0.12.2 has been released. This release has a fix for the ICQ protocol change, fixes of adding ICQ contacts and also a bunch of other fixes as well.

Kopete 0.12.1 has been released. This release has a fix for the ICQ protocol change. Plenty of other fixes abound in this release as well.

June 1st, 2006: Kopete 0.12.0 Released!

After 10 months of development, the Kopete Developers proudly announce the release of Kopete 0.12.0. Kopete 0.12.0 will support the following KDE versions:
KDE 3.3*
KDE 3.4
KDE 3.5

Kopete 0.12.0 is expected to be the last release for the KDE 3.x series as more focus is put on Kopete 1.0 for KDE 4.

March 21th, 2006: Kopete 0.12 Beta 2 Released

The Kopete team is proud to announce the release of Kopete 0.12 Beta 2 which is the third prerelease from the 0.12 series. See release notes on Sourceforge for more info about the change.

People using the following versions of KDE should be able to compile and install Kopete 0.12 Beta 2:
KDE 3.3, KDE 3.4, KDE 3.5

Please note that emoticons will not work if Kopete is compiled against KDE 3.3 due to the move of emoticon support into kdelibs during the development cycle for KDE 3.4

We urge everyone to compile and install this prerelease of Kopete as it will most likely be the last prerelease before Kopete 0.12.0 is released.

March 12th, 2006: Kopete 0.12 Beta 1 Released

The Kopete team is proud to announce the release of Kopete 0.12 Beta 1 which is the second prerelease from the 0.12 series. Thanks to the feedback from the community after the release of 0.12 Alpha 1, we have been able to resolve over 100 bugs. Grab your downloads from the releases page. Feburary 8th, 2006: Kopete 0.12 Alpha 1 Released

October 8th 2005: KDETalk.net , the KDE Jabber server

The Kopete team is proud to announce the creation of a public Jabber server running on kdetalk.net.. Kopete users who still haven't a Jabber account, may freely suscribe. You no longer have an excuse to not use Jabber

August 8th 2005: Kopete 0.10.3 released

Kopete 0.10.3 has been released. This release has a fix for the Gadu-Gadu security issue discovered earlier. Plenty of other fixes abound in this release as well.

May 23rd 2005: Kopete 0.10.1 and Kopete 0.9.3 with fixes for MSN

New standalone releases of Kopete out today to help people get a fix for the MSN issue. Kopete 0.9.3 should work with KDE 3.2 and above. Kopete 0.10.1 should work with KDE 3.3 and above. Please note that Kopete 0.10.2 will now ship with KDE 3.4.1.
